Data Protection & Privacy Policy

At ACSTD, we recognize that our work often involves handling sensitive information in fragile and conflict-affected contexts. Protecting personal data is a matter of integrity, safety, and trust.

We commit to the following principles:

Lawful and transparent use: We collect and use data only for clearly defined purposes related to our research, advisory, and programmatic work.

Minimal collection: We collect only the information we need, and nothing more.

Security and confidentiality: All information is stored securely, with access restricted to authorized staff.

Consent and dignity: Where personal information is shared, it is always with informed consent and clear explanation of how it will be used.

Limited retention: We do not keep data longer than necessary and securely dispose of it when it is no longer needed.

No unauthorized sharing: We never sell or disclose personal data to third parties without explicit consent or legal obligation.

As an Afghan-led organization working in sensitive environments, we hold ourselves to international data protection standards, including the UK’s Data Protection Act and GDPR principles, to safeguard the dignity and privacy of all individuals we engage with.
