Inclusivity and Non-Discrimination Policy

ACSTD is dedicated to creating a culture of inclusivity, equity, and respect. This policy ensures that all staff, researchers, volunteers, and collaborators are treated with dignity, and that discrimination in any form is prohibited.

 

Scope
Applies to all ACSTD activities: internal operations, research, public engagement, and partnerships.

 

Core Principles

  • Equality: Equal access to opportunities and resources.
  • Diversity: Value and celebrate differences in gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and political beliefs.
  • Respect: Foster mutual respect, treating differences as strengths.
  • Non-discrimination: Prohibit any direct or indirect discrimination or harassment.

Expected Conduct
All members of ACSTD must:

  • Treat others with dignity and fairness.
  • Respect cultural, religious, and gender diversity.
  • Use professional and respectful language and behavior.
  • Avoid discriminatory or exclusionary actions.

Prohibited Conduct

  • Harassment, bullying, or discriminatory behavior.
  • Unfair treatment in recruitment, promotions, or assignments.
  • Exclusion based on personal characteristics or beliefs.

Implementation and Accountability

  • Leadership: Responsible for fostering an inclusive culture and addressing violations promptly.
  • Training: Regular awareness training on inclusivity and unconscious bias.
  • Monitoring: Regular reviews of practices to identify and correct gaps.
  • Reporting: Incidents can be reported confidentially; violations will be investigated and acted upon.
