Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy

ACSTD believes that every individual has the right to feel safe, respected, and protected from harm. Safeguarding is central to our mission of building trust, resilience, and peace in Afghanistan and the wider region.

We are committed to:

Zero tolerance for abuse, exploitation, harassment, or neglect in any form.

Protecting children and vulnerable adults by ensuring that our staff, consultants, and partners uphold the highest standards of conduct at all times.

Clear reporting mechanisms: Anyone working with ACSTD can confidentially report safeguarding concerns, which will be addressed promptly, fairly, and without retaliation.

Awareness and training: All staff and consultants receive guidance on safeguarding responsibilities, ensuring they can identify risks and respond appropriately.

Community respect: Our work often involves displaced or traumatized populations. We commit to engaging with communities in ways that protect their dignity and reduce risk.

By embedding safeguarding into all our research, advisory, and program work, ACSTD ensures that “do no harm” is not just a principle, but a lived practice.
