Unacceptable Behavior Policy

ACSTD is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and professional environment. This policy defines unacceptable behavior, outlines reporting and response mechanisms, and reinforces our values of integrity, inclusivity, and accountability.

 

Acceptable Behavior

  • Respectful, considerate communication.
  • Professionalism in all interactions.
  • Collaboration and openness to diverse perspectives.

Unacceptable Behavior

 

Includes but is not limited to:

  1. Sexual harassment: Unwelcome sexual advances or conduct.
  2. Discrimination: Unjust treatment based on gender, race, religion, ethnicity, or orientation.
  3. Bullying: Repeated negative behavior, including exclusion or verbal abuse.
  4. Aggression/violence: Verbal, psychological, or physical intimidation.
  5. Substance abuse: Use of substances that impair professionalism or safety.
  6. Sexual exploitation and abuse: Abuse of power or trust for sexual gain.

Procedures for Addressing Violations

  1. Direct resolution: Raise the issue with the individual involved, if safe.
  2. Seeking support: Report to supervisors, designated staff, or the Director.
  3. Formal complaint: File a written complaint for impartial investigation.
  4. Resolution: Corrective measures may include warnings, suspension, termination, or legal referral.

Prevention and Awareness

  • Training and resources to build awareness and accountability.
  • Accessible, confidential reporting mechanisms.
  • Protection for whistleblowers from retaliation.

It is reviewed annually to reflect evolving needs and best practices.
